Alfreton Town will be looking to maintain their play off spot tomorrow afternoon as a much needed return to winning ways will be the aim with the visit of mid-table Spennymoor to the Impact in the National League North, kick off is 3pm.

The Reds will be desperate to find form again with recent results seeing us slide from as high as fourth in the league to sixth heading into tomorrow's game.

Our last outing was a disappointing defeat to in-form Farsley Celtic at the Impact Arena as the Celts hit four to record a 4-2 win. The contest started perfectly for us when Nyle Blake opened his account for the season after 37 seconds with a neat finish in the box.

However three unanswered headed goals from the visitors saw them take a 3-1 lead into the interval. Former Red Tom Allan nodded into the far corner after 8 before two from James Spencer with a close range header and then another headed finish in the box saw the Reds with work to do.

The second half started well again with Conor Branson scoring a beauty from 25 yards before our momentum was stripped when Charlie Andrew spilled a cross on 67 allowing Syers to convert to complete the scoring.

Although the Reds started both periods well, the manner of the goals conceded was disappointing as we missed out on crucial points in the play-off race. Billy Heath's side will be eager to get back to winning ways tomorrow in order to prevent a slide down the table.

We head into tomorrow's contest having lost three of our last four games in all competitions and winning just one of our last six.

Impact Arena form has taken a hit, with the Reds looking to avoid a third straight home league defeat tomorrow. Prior to those back to back defeats to Darlington and Farsley, Alfreton were unbeaten at home in all competitions.

Spennymoor currently sit in 13th in the league table with 19 points from 13 games. They are three points and seven places below us.

Their current playing record: P13, W5, D4, L4.

With the National League North table so tight and just three points separating us in sixth and Boston in 14th, points are proving vital across the league as the race for play-offs continues to heat up and involve more and more clubs. Success for Spennymoor would see them move level with us on 22 points, despite them sitting in 13th.

The Moors arrive to us as the league's in form team with 13 points picked up in their last five games. Spenny will be looking for fourth league win in a row after wins against Gloucester, Kettering and Kidderminster.

Moors have lost just once (FA Cup, Chorley (A) 2-0) in their last nine games in all competitions. The visitors will be looking for a fourth win in their last five on the road in all competitions.

However our last meeting at the Impact saw a then record league defeat at home as the Moors scored seven to register a 7-1 win at the Impact Arena.
