Alfreton Town 2-4 Brackley Town

Alfreton Town suffered a third defeat in a row as Brackley hit four at the Impact Arena to continue the Reds losing run.

The Saints took the lead after 15 when York led a counter attack and found Armson who returned the ball to him before York slotted into the corner past Jordan Wright.

Armson made it two on 31 after a penalty was awarded for holding in the box. Armson stepped up to convert into the bottom corner, it was three on 56 when Lowe finished into the corner after striding onto a cross from the right unmarked.

65 minutes presented a fourth for Brackley when Myles raced down the right as the Reds were carved open again and he found Ndlovu who finished well.

We grabbed two goals late on as Andy Kellett was brought down trying to connect with a Michael Freiter cross,a penalty was given and Bobby Johnson stepped up and finished past Lewis on 89 before Branson's cross was then touched home by a Saints player in stoppage time but the late rally came too little too late.

The Reds started the game fairly well with Bobby Johnson delivering a good free kick towards the far post which brought a corner. Dale Whitham took it short to Amari Morgan-Smith who played it back to Dale, he looked for Ethan Stewart but the cross eluded him in the box.

The pitch surface was causing issues as Amari charged a goal kick down from Lewis, Andy Kellett found Bobby before Brackley cleared a Josh Wilde cross. Ryan Qualter defended well from Lowe to give the Saints a corner before clearing away the set piece at the far post.

Jordan Wright denied Ndlovu from a yard out following a cross from the right, then with 15 gone York led a counter attack finding Armson on the left before the ball was played back into him and finished into the bottom corner in the box.

Dean headed over from Armson's cross as the visitors took charge of the game following the Reds good start. Whitham came close with 22 gone, striking the post from 25 yards.

However with half an hour gone, Brackley were awarded a penalty for holding in the box following a corner towards the far post. It was the second successive penalty given against the Reds for the same reason following the one given for York following holding in the box.

Armson stepped up and converted to give the Saints daylight. Bobby curled a shot way wide in response, Amari fired just over the bar inside the box but the first half drew to a close with another deficit to claw back.

Wright was called into action early in the second half denying Lowe's shot with his legs inside the box, he saved from York, palming the shot behind for a corner.

With 56 gone it was three, Lowe collecting a cross from the right striding into the box unmarked, before finishing the ball under Wright. Qualter cleared off the line as Wright palmed a cross from Franklin against Stewart, the ball bounced backwards but Qualts was on hand to clear before the ball crossed the line.

Lewis saved from Amari at the near post before the 65th minute brought the fourth for Brackley as Myles was sent clear on the right and his cross was converted by Ndlovu who had acres of space in the Reds box.

The Saints were carving us open at will at times, with Franklin producing another dangerous cross which saw Lowe curl over. Armson fired over moments later before Alfreton rallied late on with Andy Kellett bundled over in the box with 89 gone for a Reds penalty.

Bobby finished the spot kick into the bottom corner before stoppage time brought a second as Conor Branson's cross was touched in at the near post by a Brackley player to prevent the score-line being a heavy one against us. However the late rally came too little too late as we slumped to a third loss in a row.

Next, Gateshead visit the Impact on Tuesday night with kick off 7.45pm.
