Alfreton Town are delighted to announce the loan signing of centre back Connor Teale on loan from EFL League One Side Fleetwood Town on a 1 month loan deal and the signing of fellow defender Charlie Winfield on a youth loan from Barnsley.

Billy Heath has been hard at work over recent weeks to bolster the Reds squad and have made two acquisitions ahead of our visit to Hereford tomorrow.

Teale, 20, came through the academy at Premier League Leeds United but with him expected to advance from the Under 18s to the Under 23 surprisingly chose to leave United and sign for Fleetwood Town in April 2021.
Having signed his first professional contract with the Cod Army he went on to make two first time appearances in EFL Trophy matches against Barrow and Bolton Wanderers.

The young defender is no stranger to the rigours of the National League North either as after an initial loan spell at Northern Premier League Division One West side Marine he would go on to join Curzon Ashton in January 2022 on a one month loan deal.

Teale impressed while at the Nash and saw the loan agreement extended by a month after playing an instrumental part in a series of clean sheets.

Most recently Connor has been at Farsley Celtic where he once caught the eye to such an extent that his loan agreement was once again extended by another month by Celtic manager Russ Wilcox.

Secondly, the Reds have also recruited another young defender in the form of 20 year old Charlie Winfield on a 1 month youth loan from Barnsley.

Winfield can operate as a left back or central midfielder. He made 16 appearances for Danish second Tier side Esbjerg last season before suffering a serious knee injury in December 2021 which kept him out of action for over 12 months before he returned to action for the Barnsley Development squad in the last few weeks
