Alfreton Town can confirm the arrival of talented young stop stopper Jack Thompson has joined the Reds on a youth loan from Sky Bet Championship neighbours Derby County.

Thompson turned 18 in December 2024 and has been at the Rams since the age of eight progressing through the academy ranks at Pride Park.

Thompson had a fine individual season during 2023/24 campaign which included being capped by England Under 18s. Despite his tender age Thompson is highly rated and has made 7 appearances for the Under 21 team and has recently been training with the Derby First Team. This also including travelling to Spain during pre season and taking part in warm weather training under the stewardship of Goalkeeper coach Andy Warrington.

Jack signed his first professional contract with Derby in 2023 and spent time at loan at Southern League Central Premier Division league leaders Kettering Town at earlier this season.
