Midfielder moves to the Impact Arena for an undisclosed fee

Alfreton Town are delighted to confirm the signing of midfielder Conor Branson from Altrincham for an undisclosed fee.

Conor, 27, can play either in central midfield or in the heart of the defence.

Branson scored 12 goals in 43 appearances for Bradford PA in the 2018/19 campaign and was a key part of the side that finished in the play offs; bowing out to Spennymoor Town.

Conor’s efforts saw him rewarded with an extended contract in February 2019 until the end of the 2019-20 campaign, after he had joined the Horsfall club having impressed on trial.
The ex-Barnsley under-18s captain, who had a spell with Guiseley before playing in America, also won the manager's player of the year under Mark Bower.

Conor would then join Altrincham in June 2019 for an undisclosed fee where he has made eight appearances so far in the 2019/20 campaign.

Billy Heath:

“Conor is a fantastic signing for us, he can play both in central midfield and at centre back. He’s been at both Alty and Bradford before and he knows this league and knows the level.”

“We’ve been monitoring him for a while now and we are so pleased to have him at the Reds. He’s a good signing, brings good size and flexibility to us.”
