The draw for the FA Cup Second Qualifying Round was released by the FA earlier this afternoon as Ofton look to replicate and even improve on the countless fond memories from last season`s fine run to the Second Round Proper.

Billy Heath`s side will travel to the winners of the First Qualifying Tie between Northern Premier League Premier Division side Matlock Town and Southern League Premier Central side Spalding United.

The original tie between the teams finished goalless on Saturday in front of a crowd of 344.
Its been a difficult start to the season for both teams.

As widely reported Matlock announced the appointment of legendary Reds manager Nicky Law as their new boss in May. However its safe to say things didn`t work out as planned.

Just hours before the release of the draw Matlock announced the departure of Law by mutual consent with former Alfreton defender Shaun Brisley announced as part of the interim management team to take charge of the replay tomorrow.

Spalding United newly promoted to Step 3 have also had a difficult start to their season in the Southern League Central.

The Tulips won on the opening day of the season against Bedford Town but are six games without a win and only found the net twice all season. The Lincolnshire side sacked their manager Elliott Sandy on the 23rd of August and announced the appointment of former Peterborough Sports and Scunthorpe United boss Jimmy Dean on August 28th.

Alfreton last played Matlock in the FA Cup at this exact stage 20 years ago and won 5-0 at Causeway Lane.
The Reds last faced Spalding United in the First Qualifying Round of the 2000/01 competition at North Street and won 3-2.
