Following the draw earlier this afternoon made live on TalkSport 2 Radio, Alfreton have been handed another home tie in the Emirates FA Cup against Macclesfield FC, who are members of the Northern Premier League Premier Division after winning the Northern Premier League Division One West title last season.

While this will be a first meeting with the pheonix club Macclesfield FC, Alfreton are no stranger to meeting the previous incarnation Macclesfield Town which went out of business in 2020. The two clubs famously met in the First Round Proper in the 2004/05 season when Mark Sale`s late goal in front of a big North Street forced a replay which Macclesfield won 2-0 at Moss Rose.

More recently the two sides last met at this same stage of the 2015/16 edition at Moss Rose when second half goals from Sam Jones and Jordan Robertson was not enough to avoid a 3-2 defeat at Moss Rose.

Winners of the tie will earn £9,375 and a coveted place in the First Round Draw with the losers awarded £3,125.
