30 year old Ghanian signs ahead of visit Darlington to Impact Arena

Alfreton Town are absolutely delighted to announce the signing of vastly experienced forward Joe Dodoo.

Billy Heath has been working tirelessly to add to his Reds squad and is pleased to have secured the services of Dodoo 30.

The Ghanian forward has represented England at Under 18 level once in 2013.
However his real breakthrough came in 2015 after coming through the academy at Leicester City where he made his debut in August 2015 registering a hat trick in a 4-1 on Bury in the League Cup. His performance was so impressive he made his Premier League bow the following weekend as a 72nd minute in a 1-1 draw at AFC Bournemouth.
In the next round of the EFL Cup he was on a scoresheet in a 2-1 win over West Ham United. His performances earnt him a loan move to Bury.
He was released by Leicester at the end of the 2015/16 season after being part of the history making Premier League champions squad of that year.

Joe then signed for Scottish Giants Rangers enjoying further loan spells at EFL clubs Charlton Athletic and Blackpool.
Dodoo then joined EFL League One side Bolton Wanderers where he found the net four times in 25 appearances at the Trotters were relegated to League Two.

After being released by Bolton Wanderers Dodoo went overseas to sign for Turkish second tier side Ankara Keciorengucu for the 2020/21 season,

Short spells followed back in England with Wigan and Doncaster before after five months without a club Joe signed for local side Burton Albion towards the end of the 2022/23 season.
The Ghanian then went 18 months without a club spending his time creating youtube channel showing him keeping himself in fine fettle as he awaited for his new opportunity even turning his social media in to a business venture during his hiatus from the game.
Most recently Dodoo earned a short term deal at National League side Solihull Moors scoring one goal in seven appearances.

Please extend a warm welcome to Joe who goes in to the squad for our home opener against Darlington at the Impact Arena!
