Alfreton Town boss Billy Heath has been busy in the transfer market recently looking to make additions to his playing squad.
The Reds are pleased to announce that 25 year old striker Akeel Francis has signed for the club.
Francis, who is eligible to represent England and Jamaica at international level, has enjoyed a superb season in front of goal.
Akeel spent the pre-season with Northern Premier League Premier Division side Hyde United before signing for Wakefield FC in the Northern Counties East League Division One. 13 goals for Wakey saw him move up two steps to Brighouse Town in the Northern Premier League Division One East in November 2024. His rich vein of form in front of goal continued at Town with Francis hitting an impressive 8 goals in 12 appearances for a struggling side at Step 4 taking his season tally to 21 goals.
Moreover Francis has previous experience at National League North level. He played for North Ferriby United in the 2017-18 season, Guiseley in the 2018-19 season and Farsley the following year.
Francis has also represented clubs north of the border including Falkirk in Scottish League One and Stirling Albion in Scottish League Two along with several other clubs in England including Warrington Rylands, Bradford PA and Grantham Town.
Please extend a warm welcome to Akeel, Reds fans!
