Third placed Reds head to second placed Linnets looking for five in a row

Next up in the National League North for the rampant Reds is a visit to one of the league newcomers and high flyers Kings Lynn Town, kick off at the Walks is 7.45pm.

It's a clash at the top end of the table with Billy Heath's side sitting third in the table and the hosts sitting second. Something will have to give tomorrow night with both sides in inspired form, the fixture proves to be a fascinating one.

Alfreton made it four league wins in a row on Saturday with another impressive performance, this time at Aggborough in a 1-0 win over Kidderminster. It was a game of very few chances with both sides cancelling the other out.

Midfield was a key area and we worked hard throughout to frustrate the hosts with our defensive duties in particular a stand out trait on Saturday. We had few openings but we did take one of ours as Dom Smith headed in Bobby Johnson's corner just before half time.

The second half saw a lack of real tempo in the game and eventual late pressure from the hosts with penalty shouts being waved away, Ben Tomlinson would be sent off for a second bookable offence but the Reds left Aggborough fairly comfortable with another three points gained.

It was yet again a fantastic display from the side who dug in, battled and took the chance when it came. The Reds are in fine form and head into tomorrow night's clash looking for a fifth straight league win and a third straight clean sheet.

We'll also be aiming for a third away win on the bounce after Guiseley and Kiddy and in turn overtake our opponents into second in the table.

Kings Lynn have been the NLN's surprise package so far and have 19 points from eight games, they are three points above us.

Their playing record stands at: P8, W6, D1, L1.

The second placed Linnets are a point behind pace-setters York and are also aiming for a fifth league win in a row. The hosts have only tasted defeat once so far this season and this came on the opening day of the season (3-0 at Guiseley).

Home form has been incredible with Kings Lynn winning all of their home fixtures so far, scoring 11 and conceding just three in the process. The hosts will be aiming for a fifth successive home win tomorrow night.
