Alfreton Town Council and Alfreton Town Football Club have launched a unique partnership that will see free entry to all home league games for under eighteens. The two organisations have worked in partnership for many years and the current arrangements are part of the Town Councils renewal of its annual sponsorship worth three thousand pounds. The scheme will allow all youngsters under the age of eighteen free entry to every home league game through to at least the end of 2023 when the arrangements will be reviewed.
Wayne Bradley, Chairman of Alfreton Town Football Club said he was delighted to continue the long partnership with the Town Council, with the arrangement fitting well with the club's desire to attract new and younger fans, be a central part of the local community and as support in providing activities for youngsters to engage in.
The initiative starts at the club's home game with high flying Fylde on Saturday 18th of March, with plans to include a Youth Lounge for the age group and opportunities to meet players. Councillor John Walker, Town Mayor said we hope this unique partnership encourages young football fans to attend Alfreton Town matches and act as a distraction from getting involved with anti-social behaviour. We are delighted to have been able to work in partnership with the Football Club for what we hope will prove a successful venture.
