MATCH PREVIEW: Alfreton Town v Southport

Reds look to end run of three straight home defeats with visit of Southport

Alfreton Town will aim to end a run of three straight home defeats when they host Southport under the Impact Arena lights tomorrow on their 28th National League North outing of the 2024/25 season.
The Reds start a tough looking February schedule which includes consecutive lengthy away trips to Spennymoor, Hereford and South Shields later in the month.

After a difficult January on the pitch, Billy Heath`s men will be a hoping a commanding 4-1 win against a depleted Farsley Celtic that ended a run of five straight defeats on Friday night will be a catalyst for an upturn in form starting tomorrow night.

Alfreton are currently in 11th place in the National League North on 40 points - seven points behind Derbyshire rivals Buxton who currently occupy the final play off place.
With just two wins in the last seven at the Impact Arena the Reds will be keen to make the Impact a fortress and a difficult place to visit for opposing sides.
A brace from Liam Waldock to take his season tally to 10 one behind top goalscorer Abbey along with goals from Salmon who made it three goals in two game and Jake Day sealed a comfortable win over the stricken Celts.

After a decent start to the season which included a win over Ofton on the opening day of the campaign a run of 1 league win in 14 games has the Sandgrounders looking over their shoulder at the relegation zone despite investment in to the squad in the summer.
While Alfreton won at the Tarmac Silverlands Stadium on Friday, It was Southport who provided the opposition for Buxton the following day and it was the Bucks who prevailed by a 2-1 scoreline.
Indeed Southport are nine away games without a win and their record at the Impact Arena doesn't make any better reading with just a single win in their last 15 visits to DE55.

Adult - £15

Parking at the Impact Arena is incredibly limited. We recommend
the pay and display parking on Rogers Lane, DE55 7FF and also at Severn Square, DE55 7BT - both are a five to ten minute walk to and from the Impact Arena.

Please be considerate of residents on the estate next to the arena, particularly Connaught Court, Bentley Close and North Street. We ask supporters to avoid parking in the residential areas around the ground and instead ask that you follow the advice and park in the pay and display car parks
