Reds go in search of pre Christmas boost with home win over newly promoted Radcliffe

Alfreton Town go in search of a pre Christmas boost on Saturday when they welcome newly promoted Radcliffe FC to the Impact Arena.
Its fair to say that Billy Heath`s men havent been at the peak of their powers recently with just one goal in the last four matches. However that doesnt tell the whole story as some typically rock solid defensive displays on the road at Scunthorpe and Kings Lynn in matches Alfreton arguably shaded have the Reds once again challenging for the play offs on limited resources.
Tuesday night`s results saw Ofton just drop out of the top seven in to eighth place in the league standings. A win over 22nd place Radcliffe on Saturday would leave Alfreton five points better off than at the same stage last season when Alfreton had  32 points from 21 games and were languishing down in 13th.
While the Reds are not as potent an attacking force as last term Billy Heath has made the Reds even more difficult to be beat as they have only lost 4 of their 20 league games to date.
Radcliffe FC changed to their current name in 2018 after being previously known as their original name from when they were founded in 1949. Radcliffe FC, nicknamed the Boro and have a history with the Reds.

Similarly to the last home game against Marine who were also promoted from the Northern Premier League Premier Division last season this will be Alfreton`s first meeting with Radcliffe since the 2003/04 season.
The Manchester based side are managed by the very experienced duo of Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley who steered them to the league title at Step 3 last season. Radcliffe head in to the fixture on the back of a morale damaging 4-0 home loss to full time Kidderminster Harriers which saw they fall below Marine on goal difference to 22nd.
