MATCH PREVIEW: Alfreton Town v Brackley Town

Reds look to turn the form book upside when play off rivals Brackley visit the Impact Arena

Alfreton 12 days without action Alfreton Town are set to make a swift return to the rigours of the National League North with two huge league matches starting with the visit of perennial promotion challengers Brackley Town to the Impact Arena on Tuesday night.

After a disappointing Christmas period which saw the Reds suffer back to back league defeats for the first for the first time in 16 months after defeats against Buxton and Curzon Ashton, Billy Heath`s men returned to action with two crucial games against strong National League North opposition in Brackley Town and Chester.

After a slow start initially Brackley are once again in the promotion picture at the half way point with 40 points from their 23 points. The Saints were the last team standing from the National League North in the FA Cup this season eventually going down 3-1 to Stockport in the second Round.

If the Reds are to reignite their play off bid with a crucial win tomorrow night against Gavin Cowan`s men they are going to have to overturn the form book.
Brackley have lost just two of their last twelve outings in National League North which has seen them climb the table at some pace.

On the other hand its been a tough few months for Ofton. The Reds have been on the end of a string of tough refereeing decisions which has contributed to defeats against Spennymoor in the FA Trophy, South Shields in the league and most recently Curzon Ashton on New Years. This has seen Alfreton record two wins in their last eight games in all comps both against teams in the relegation zone.

History against Brackley is certainly not on the Reds side either. Their the only team to record a league double over the Reds in the last two seasons.

In the last 10 meetings Alfreton have just a solitary win, solitary draw and eight defeats including six by a single goal to nil.

Billy Heath will know that if the reds want to make the play offs for a third straight season then this week may be crucial.

the pay and display parking on Rogers Lane, DE55 7FF and also at Severn Square, DE55 7BT - both are a five to ten minute walk to and from the Impact Arena.

Please be considerate of residents on the estate next to the arena, particularly Connaught Court, Bentley Close and North Street. We ask supporters to avoid parking in the residential areas around the ground and instead ask that you follow the advice and park in the pay and display car parks
