The boss spoke with us following Tuesday's FA Cup defeat

Reds boss Billy Heath spoke with Press Officer Amar Sharma following the Reds Emirates FA Cup exit at Kings Lynn on Tuesday night.

Shane Killock gave us in the lead in the second half before goals from Adam Marriott and Nathan Fox sealed progression for the hosts in a disappointing cup exit.

On the Reds exit:
The performance was okay, for long periods we were well in the game, it's disappointing because we obviously scored the first goal but in the end two mistakes have cost us. So we have to take it on the chin but like I say, you know when you come to Kings Lynn they are going to have a lot of the football especially down here, it's a really difficult place to go.

We're disappointed because of the two mistakes, we should have dealt with situations better for the two goals but we haven't. So we're feeling a bit flat as you would expect but we have to pick ourselves up and go again Saturday, it's important to get back to winning ways.

On the Reds being 1-0 up in the tie:
It's gutting, it's a very difficult place to come and they are a very very good team. From what we've played this season, they are the best team we've played. When you get in the lead, that ten minutes after you take the lead you protect it and you don't concede, we conceded too early after the goal and it was a mistake, the ball came across and we should have cleared it, we didn't and its in the back of the net and that's how things change.

The goals they haven't really, for all the football and the passing ability and all the good players they've got, they haven't opened us up, the two goals have been self inflicted if you like and that's disappointing.

On missing out on the funds gained through progression in the FA Cup:
It is what it is, at the end of the day everybody wants a cup run, everybody wants that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and you want to get through two or three ties. But that's not happened this season, the draw hasn't been kind to us this year and these are the games when you're playing against teams in your own league, this is what can happen.

It can happen against lesser teams, there's shocks, there's twists, it's disappointing but we're not going to suddenly start imploding and we cant worry about what could or might have been, what's done is done. Again effort, commitment, desire no issues with that, the players gave everything again but it just wasn't good enough tonight.
