Alfreton Town turn their attention to the Isuzu FA Trophy on Saturday afternoon when they entertain fellow National League North outfit Needham Market in the Second Proper of the competition.

Alfreton Town slipped to ninth place following Tuesday nights results but it continues to be tight at the top of the National League North with the Reds having the possibility of going level on top should they win their games in hand.

Needham Market are taking part in their first ever season at Step 2 after winning the Southern League Premier Central Division title last season
The Marketmen have struggled to adapt to their new surroundings and sit in 23rd place ahead of the fixture.

With no points on offer for this clash the league campaign goes to the backburner as both sides battle for a place in the next round.

The two sides did meet for the first time back on Bank Holiday Monday in August when two jed Abbey strikes in the second half secured a 2-0 win on the road for the Reds in Suffolk.

Billy Heath`s side will be looking to improve on a disappointing recent record in this competition having crashed out at the first hurdle in both of the last two seasons away to Darlington and at home to Macclesfield last season.

The winners of the tie will earn £3,750 and a place in the Third Round Proper Draw on Monday. The losing club will be given £1000 with penalties being taken should the match finish a draw after 90 minutes.
