Alfreton Town FC are absolutely delighted to announce the signings of Canadian Duo Jeremy Opong (pictured) and Richard Miguel Laporte Guevara from Seattle University Soccer Team in the USA College System.

Firstly Jeremy Opong plays as a striker and had a successful time while at Seattle in the NCAA as they were crowned the Western Conference Champions in 2024 after a 3-0 win over San Jose state.
Opong was born in Brampton Ontario Canada and made 5 appearances during the 2022 season including 3 starts, The following season Opong made 18 further appearances for the Reds hawks including 13 starts and recorded three goals and assists.
In the most recent season 2024 Opong made 19 appearances scoring four times and registering three assists.
Prior to Seattle Opong represented FDU Knights Athletics (Fairley Dickinson Knights) Soccer team scoring once during the 2020/21 season.

His Compatriot Richy Miguel Lapointe Guevara has also agreed to sign for Billy Reds. The Canadian was born in Montreal and has made a total of 39 appearances over the last two seasons for Seattle registering 6 goals and five assists.
Richy can play in midfield or as a defender. Previous to Seattle Guevara has also played for Central Arkansas and Jacksonville Universities.
Richy was also named Offensive player of the week while at Seattle in November 2024.
